Spaghetti with Meatsauce, Sautéed Peas, Watermelon, Lemon Sparkling Water

Ingredients

Spaghetti with Meat Sauce

  • 1/2 tsp Extra-virgin olive oil
  • 4 cloves Garlic sliced
  • ¼ cup Onion diced small
  • 8 oz Ground beef
  • 2 cups Crushed tomatoes preferably San Marzano tomatoes
  • 4 oz Spaghetti whole wheat
  • 2 TBSP Fresh basil chopped
  • 4 tsp Parmesan cheese grated

Peas

  • 1 tsp Extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 cups Green peas

Watermelon

  • 2 slices Watermelon

Lemon Sparkling Water

  • 24 oz Sparkling water
  • 2 slices Lemon

Instructions

  • Prepare the ingredients as instructed above.
  • Heat a pot over medium heat. Add olive oil, then sauté the sliced garlic and diced onion until softened.
  • Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it into small pieces with a spatula.
  • Stir in the crushed tomatoes and season generously with salt and pepper. Partially cover with a lid and simmer on low for 30–35 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain, reserving pasta water if desired.
  • Add the drained spaghetti to the pot with the meat sauce and mix well to coat. Stir in chopped basil.
  • Heat the oil in a sauté pan over medium heat. Saute the green peas stirring occasionally, until hot, about 2 - 3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Combine the sparkling water and lemon. Serve over ice if desired.
  • Serve the spaghetti with grated Parmesan cheese, alongside peas, watermelon, and lemon sparkling water.
